We received feedback from 211 individuals and groups through online and hard-copy Council feedback channels. Feedback was received by 203 individuals:

A further approximately 200 people provided feedback during ACTIS's 'humps and bollards have your say day'.

What you told us

  • Across all streets, the majority of submitters said that they were in favour of safe speed humps.
  • The intersection upgrades mostly received mixed feedback – some intersections were more supported than others. Many people expressed concern that the intersections have become too narrow making it feel more dangerous and impossible to turn without crossing the centre line.

Changes made to staff recommendation following feedback

We’ve made a decision on the Aranui Streets Project.

Waitai Coastal-Burwood-Linwood Community Board decided to approve the staff recommendation of retaining the trial with changes to the intersection upgrades, on Monday 10 June 2024.

What happens next?

We expect construction of the intersection changes to begin in late-June 2024.
