Thanks to everyone who submitted feedback on this project

We received a total of 255 submissions about the new lease application by Christchurch Archery Club, from 248 individuals and the following organisations:

  • Youth Alive Trust
  • Geraldine Archery Club
  • Timaru Archery Club
  • New Brighton Residents Association
  • St Margarets College
  • New Brighton Community Gardens
  • Menage a Trois Vintage

A petition was also received from Christchurch Archery Club, with signatures from local businesses and residents in support of the lease.

What you told us

244 submitters supported the Club being granted a new lease. Four submitters comments did not support a new lease, and seven submitters had unclear views.

Common topics raised during early conversations and consultation were:

  • The club providing good community and social benefits
  • A good facility, staff and coaches
  • Positive club inclusivity and accessibility
  • Positive youth engagement and development
  • The club's long history at the site

Meeting details and decision making process

A staff report recommending approval of the lease will be presented to the Waitai Coastal-Burwood-Linwood Community Board.
