We'd like to thank the community for providing feedback on potential future land use options for the BP Meats site in Akaroa. We heard from nearly 100 people, and the rich information you provided is helping the project team with the next phase of the project.

This feedback is being used by the project team to narrow down the potential options and develop draft future land use options, which will be presented to Te Pātaka o Rākaihautū Banks Peninsula Community Board for endorsement.

Once approved, we will ask the community for submissions on the draft options for the site to help inform a staff recommendation on the preferred future use of the land.

We will be back in touch when we have a confirmed Community Board meeting date for the draft future land use options. We expect this to be in April 2025 owing to the time needed to consider the community’s initial feedback and gather further technical information.
