We’ve made a decision on Ngā Puna Wai artificial turf fields

The Waipuna Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board decided to approve the plan, on 13 March 2025.

The Community Board also asked staff to investigate:

• Optimising the use of the artificial turfs with a warm up area
• Any proposals for improving playing surfaces at Halswell Domain to ensure availability for year-round usage
• The number of intended artificial turfs in the south-west area as part of the Sports Field Network Plan, noting the extensive growth and demand in the south-west area and usage from surrounding Selwyn residents
• Updating of the master plan for the wider Ngā Puna Wai facility and surrounding roads, noting the significant changes to the facility since opening
