Updates

The aging play equipment at Cross Reserve is being upgraded with modern, fit for purpose replacements. This is a mostly 'like-for-like' renewal with options offering similar play value.

Community feedback from local groups and residents highlighted the park's diverse use by students, families and social groups. Using this feedback and an engagement drop-in at the Philipstown Community Hub revealed the community's favourite ways to play:

  1. Climbing
  2. Nature play
  3. Playing on forts and modular equipment

This feedback was used to shape the draft concept plan.

Philipstown Community Hub have also expressed interest in growing a small edible garden in the reserve, with the layout to be determined.

We’re planning to install
  • A modular play fort, with equipment for young people to use for fitness
  • A two-bay swing, with two standard seats and a basket swing
  • A honeycomb spinner
  • A spring seat
  • Two new picnic tables
  • Nature play with playful logs and stumps

The existing seesaw will be retained and relocated.
