Thanks to everyone who submitted feedback on this project

We received 37 submissions from individuals and one from Wairarapa Cobham Intermediate.

Overall, the majority of submitters supported making the bike jump area permanent (25, 66%), 5% (2) somewhat supported, and 29% (11) did not support.

What you told us

Common topics raised during consultation were:

  • It is a great initiative
  • The local area is good/safe to practise and socialise
  • Tamariki enjoy it
  • The reserve is relatively small and may impact other users, including dog walkers and play space users
  • Concerns of damage to newly planted trees and landscaping
  • Amenity and visual concerns
  • Keeping the clay jump so tamariki can continue to be involved in track building

The Waimāero Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board will make a decision after they have read the staff report, considered all feedback and heard from those who have requested to speak to their submission.
