Description of proposed activity: To undertake works along the Avon-Heathcote Ihutai Estuary edge to construct erosion and inundation protection structures, which include gabion baskets, cobble beaches, rock revetments and inundation bunds. A shared path will be included on the bund, and pedestrian access points to the estuary are proposed at several road ends in Southshore.

The works will be undertaken at South New Brighton Park (74 Beatty Street) and along Southshore from Ebbtide Street to 184C Rocking Horse Road. A stockpile area is proposed at 80 Owles Terrace. Existing protection structures are to be removed.

A twenty-year consent duration is sought.
