Consultation open
The play equipment at Stoddart Point Reserve and Kirk Park has come to the end of its useful life and is being replaced with modern, fit for purpose play equipment. This is mostly a ‘like-for-like’ renewal, so we plan to select the modern equivalent of the existing equipment or alternatives that offer similar play value.
Currently, the play spaces include:
- Stoddart Point Reserve play space - a modular play set with a slide, climbing play features and a hanging glider
- Kirk Park play space - a modular play set with a slide, a tunnel, climbing play features and monkey bars
What we’re planning
Stoddart Point Reserve
Play module with the following features:
- Climbing
- Balancing
- Sliding
A separate rocker will also be provided.
This project is not part of the Stoddart Point youth play space development project which is scheduled to start in 2026/2027.
Kirk Park
Play module with the following features:
- Climbing
- Balancing
- Sliding
- Imaginative play
An additional spinner, swing set with a basket swing and two standard seats, natural wood balance beams and an accessible picnic table will be provided.
We intend to provide accessible footpath access for both play spaces.
View the concept plans below for the full extent of the renewals.
Working with local kids on Kirk Park
Te Kura o Te Waipapa Diamond Harbour School is working with us to create playful artwork around the new play space. We're currently still in discussion with the school to finalise what kind of artwork will be put in.
