Community Service Awards 2024

17 July 2024

Celebrating Our Heros

Our Community Service Awards give well-deserved recognition to the exceptional individuals who make our communities better places to live.

These awards are a way to thank and honour volunteers who, without pay and often with little recognition, demonstrate immense dedication and passion.

Whether for youth, older adults, education, culture, church, recreation, sports, or community service, we are committed to ensuring that these special volunteers are acknowledged and celebrated for their dedication.

The Community Service Awards are held every three years. This year's 2024 ceremony took place at the Little River Inn on July 15th, where we gathered to recognise and celebrate our local heroes. The afternoon was filled with speeches, unity, and an overwhelming sense of gratitude for those who give so much of themselves to benefit others.

Why Volunteers Matter

Volunteers are the local legends who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring about positive change. Their generosity and spirit make a huge difference, often without seeking any recognition. By stepping up and offering their time, skills, and compassion, they not only help individuals but also strengthen our society as a whole. They remind us that kindness, generosity, and a sense of duty to others can transform lives and build stronger, more connected communities.
