What we heard

16 March 2026

Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on the Waihoro Spreydon-Cashmere-Heathcote Community Board Plan 2026-28. We received 46 submissions, from 38 individuals and the following organisations/school:

  • Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke Inc
  • Summit Road Society
  • Stolen Bikes Christchurch and Canterbury
  • Spokes Canterbury
  • Play Preservation Trust
  • Place Cadets Trust (formally Gather Foundation)
  • Ōpāwaho Heathcote River Network
  • Addington Te Kura Taumatua


People were generally supportive of the draft vision and priorities, and provided a range of suggestions to strengthen them. All feedback will be considered by the Community Board and can be read in the submissions report below.

Next steps

The Waihoro Spreydon-Cashmere-Heathcote Community Board will initially discuss the feedback and possible revisions to the draft Board Plan at a workshop on 19 March 2026. This is a public meeting and everyone is welcome to attend in person or watch online.

The Community Board is scheduled to approve a final version of the Board Plan at their meeting on 16 April 2026. Submitters who indicated they would like to speak to their feedback will be invited to do so at this meeting. More details will be provided closer to the time.
