Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Funding Hui 2026

Local community groups, organisations, and sports clubs are invited to attend the Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Funding Hui this May.

These sessions are designed to help you better understand funding opportunities and strengthen the quality of your funding applications. Due to strong interest, we are offering both a daytime and an evening session — you only need to attend one.

Why attend?

This is a great opportunity to:

  • Hear directly from key funders across community, sport, recreation, and government funding
  • Learn practical tips to improve your funding applications
  • Understand current funding priorities and key changes for 2026
  • Ask questions directly to funders
  • Connect with other community groups and organisations

  • Presentations from a range of funders, including:
    • Christchurch City Council (CCC)
    • Department of Internal Affairs (DIA)
    • Rātā Foundation
    • Perpetual Guardian
    • Pub Charity (daytime session only)
    • NZCT (evening session only)
    • Sport Canterbury (TBC)
  • Practical guidance on what makes a strong funding request
  • Insights into funding priorities, trends, and key requirements
  • Opportunities to network with other groups
  • Light refreshments

Hui dates & times

You can attend either session (you only need to attend one):

Hui 1
Wednesday 6 May 2026
10:00 am – 12:30 pm (followed by networking lunch)
Optional 1:1 funding appointments available from 12:45 pm – 3:45 pm

Hui 2
Monday 11 May 2026
5:00 pm – 7:30 pm (light refreshments served from 5:00 pm)

1:1 Funding Appointments (6 May only)

We are offering 15-minute one-on-one funding advice sessions with selected funders (DIA, Rātā Foundation and Perpetual Guardian).

These sessions are a great opportunity to:

  • Talk through your project or funding idea
  • Get direct feedback on your funding approach
  • Ask questions specific to your organisation

⚠️ Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please include:

  • Name of organisation
  • Number of attendees
  • Which session you would like to attend (6 May or 11 May — you only need to attend one)
  • Any dietary requirements

If you would like to book a 1:1 appointment (6 May only), please indicate which funder(s) you would like to meet with (DIA, Rātā Foundation, Perpetual Guardian), and we will confirm available time slots.

⚠️ Registration is required, and spaces are limited. Priority will be given to organisations based in or primarily serving the Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood area.
