A new webpage on Bridgestone Reserve and Papanui Bush created by the Parks Visitor Experience Team provides background to its history, access details, and an outline of the community project underway to restore a remnant of the once mighty Papanui Bush. There is a 1 km loop track around the perimeter of the reserve, and the track is wheelchair accessible.

Denis McMurtrie has be a key force from the community in the restoration project; he's shown front left in the below photo, joined by volunteers from Papanui Rotary and the wider community, at one of the regular morning working bees at the bush (these are held every second Tuesday of the month from 8.30am to 12.30pm - more info here on getting involved in park volunteer events).
