Christchurch Heritage Festival is on its way again from 12 to 28 October (Labour Day), bringing together a wide range of community events and activities.

The Christchurch Heritage Festival allows us to share the stories of the past that link us to this place. He tātai muka, he tātai tangata – weave together the strands, weave together the people.

New and returning event providers are welcome to apply to be part of the Christchurch Heritage Festival 2024 programme. Applications are open at this link from Wednesday 8 May to Monday 10 June 2024.

Active Heritage - Sports, Recreation and Leisure

This year’s theme looks to explore our heritage in terms of sport, recreation and leisure. Let’s discover how these activities have shaped our diverse communities here in Ōtautahi-Christchurch, Te Pātaka o Rākaihautū-Banks Peninsula and the wider Canterbury region.

Whilst it is encouraged, it is not compulsory to relate your heritage event to the theme.
