Community Groups in Papanui-Innes-Central get Board support

Around 36 groups which help foster a sense of community across the Papanui-Innes-Central wards will receive support from the Community Board.

The Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board has allocated $202,915 in grants from its Strengthening Communities Fund this year, and added a further $45,685 for this year and next as part of its multi-year funding arrangements with eligible community groups.

The Strengthening Communities Fund supports community-focused organisations whose projects contribute to the strengthening of community wellbeing in the area.

Here is a snapshot of some of the organisations who received a grant:

Pūharakekenui Styx Living Laboratory Trust - $8,000 towards the Styx Living Laboratory Trust Education Work Programme Initiative.

Avebury House Community Trust - $40,000 in each of 2024-25 and 2025-26 towards the Avebury House Community Centre.

Community Focus Trust - $20,000 towards their Community Development Project.

Delta Community Support Trust - $15,000 towards their Community Development Service Programme.

Potters Community Welfare Charitable Trust - $9,000 towards the Northcote/Redwood Neighbourhood Link Drop-In Project.

Richmond Community Garden Trust - $20,000 towards the Riverlution Eco Park Project.
