Frontrunner Christchurch Marathon – CBD road closures

The Frontrunner Christchurch Marathon is on Sunday, 21 April, in the central city.

There will be a number of road closures and traffic restrictions in place from 5am - 2.30pm to prevent traffic from crossing the marathon course. The Council is supporting race organisers get the word out about road restrictions.

A full list of road closures is available on the Council website or refer the map below.

More than 5000 runners and walkers are set to take part in the event, which will loop around the scenic 10.55km course. The event base is at the Entertainment Triangle at North Hagley Park.

The Council is encouraging people to come into the city and join the festive atmosphere. Supporters and spectators can take in the race from a variety of vantage points around the central city.
