Asian Arts Festival

The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Te Ora will host a vibrant celebration of Asian arts and cultures showcasing music, theatre, dance, a children's fashion show, stand-up comedy, workshops, food, art market, cultural performances and more.

The Asian Arts Festival is happening on Sunday 10am-5pm in the North Quad, Cloisters Studio and Pūmanawa Gallery. Free, but some individual events are ticketed.

Winter Wonderland trail at the Gardens

Grab a free trail map from the Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre or Kiosk and enjoy this self-guided trail packed with activities and games in our very own winter wonderland - the Christchurch Botanic Gardens.

Find the Cheshire Cat, toss the Mad Hatter's hat, take part in the Caucus Race and play a round of croquet with flamingoes - just don't let the Queen of Hearts catch you slacking off before you've finished painting her roses!

The Winter Wonderland trail runs daily 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday.

The Crafting Station will run from 11am to 3pm and is located near the children's play area.

Learn to Fly Open Day

The Canterbury Aero Club is hosting a free open day on Sunday, 10am-3pm where you can chat with pilots, take simulated flights and learn about flight training.

Bring your friends and family and enjoy a day of aviation, inspiration, and fun at 25 Aviation Drive, Harewood Aviation Park. Entry is free but flights are charged.

Vintage Market Avebury House

Come along to historic Avebury House on Sunday where the Vintage Market will be taking place from 10am-2pm.

Upstairs and downstairs will have a great selection of vintage wares including antiques, books, clothing, crystal, china, jewellery, furniture and collectables. The carpark area will be set up with a delicious selection of food and drinks and live music is provided by Josh Braden. Cash only.

KidsFest Big Brass Band

Enjoy the fabulous sounds of the Woolston Brass Academy at Te Raekura Redcliffs School Hall this Sunday, 2.30-3.30pm.

This musical adventure will introduce the brass and percussion family in an engaging concert for all the family to enjoy. Younger audience members will be flag-waving and marching with the band and will have the opportunity try these instruments for themselves and learn more about the Academy after the concert. KidsFest Big Brass Band is free for U14-year-olds, door sales for over 14's are $10.
