Author talk: Kristen Phillips

Join author and poet Kristen Phillips for an honest and intimate look at her new book Dad, You've Got Dementia - Conversations With My Father - a book that is not about what is being lost on a daily basis but what there is still to find.

Kristin Phillips will be interviewed by Liz Grant and joined by Dementia Canterbury CEO Darral Campbell during the Q&A. Join at Tūranga for this free event from 4 – 5pm Friday, bookings required.

Family Tree Christmas Decoration

The Christmas and holidays are a time for family connections and making memories that last. Come to Tuakiri at Tūranga - the floor of treasures, family history and local history to make a family tree to decorate your Christmas tree, something to treasure and add to your box of memories.

Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park

The free Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park is back at Hagley this Saturday night! There’ll be dancers dancing, drummers drumming, and pipers piping - and together with some of Aotearoa’s biggest entertainers and hottest new stars, a 10-piece big band and 6-member all-star vocal group, it promises to be another cracker of a Christmas show.

Head along to North Hagley Park from 7.30 – 10.10pm this Saturday to check it out.

DINOvember Dinosaur Picnic Storytime

Roar into fun at our Dinosaur Picnic Storytime at Matatiki Hornby Centre! Enjoy T-rific dino tales, get creative with craft activities, play outdoor games, and share a sunny picnic together.

Bring a picnic blanket, your favourite snacks, and feel free to dress up in your favourite dinosaur costume. Let’s stomp, chomp, and read together in the sun! All whānau and caregivers welcome. Come along to Matatiki from 1 – 3pm Saturday.

Art in the Park at Rāwhiti Domain

Celebrate the opening of The Green Lab’s Mobile Lab in its new home at Rāwhiti Domain. Make your own art using natural dyes and plants and check out the pop-up exhibition of affordable, original woodcut prints by Bridget Allen, featuring the wildlife from our local estuaries.

All proceeds from print sales go back into The Green Lab’s community mahi, supporting creative projects that connect people with nature. Come along to Rāwhiti Domain from 10am – 2pm Sunday.
