Spring Gala at Phillipstown

Join Phillipstown Community Hub and celebrate community, warmer days and shorter nights at the Phillipstown Spring Gala.

The Hub and the organisations that reside within it will be coming together to celebrate, with free food, drinks and activities. Head along to the Hub from 11am – 2pm Sunday.

Cuban Chill-out

Come along to the Cuban Chill-out event to celebrate the last day of Cuban Art Exhibition… Never to leave! Join us at Tūranga for a family art project and the iconic film Buena Vista Social Club. Bring your popcorn and refreshments, and come and chill-out with us!

Join in the art project from 1.30pm Sunday, and view the Buena Vista Social Club screening from 2.45pm. Free, no bookings required.

SCAPE Public Art Walk

Explore new public art in SCAPE Season 2025 The Limits of Language through a free guided walking tour. Hear the inside story about the artists, the theme, and how public art is made.

Meet outside Hotel Montreal at 21 Kilmore Street for this free event from 1 – 2.30pm Saturday. Numbers are limited, so please book early.

Antarctic Summer Science Lecture - Prof. Abigail Vieregg

Come along to this Antarctic Summer Science Lecture and learn about cutting-edge astronomy research in one of the world’s most fascinating regions.

Abigail Vieregg is a professor at the University of Chicago and currently serves as the David N. Schramm director of the Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics at the University. Hear about Prof. Abigail Vieregg’s work at this Turanga talk on Saturday from 3.30 – 4.30pm.

Pop Up Play Reserve at Linwood Waterway

Enjoy a day filled with open-ended play equipment and creative fun at the Pop Up Play Reserve at Linwood Waterway. There will be a slackline, tree swings, a mud kitchen, and plenty of planks, boxes, and other loose parts for tamariki to move, build and create their own play spaces.

This is a community event designed to celebrate the Linwood Waterway. Head down to 112 Tilford St from 1 – 4pm Sunday to check it out.
