Unfortunately, it's necessary to extend the full intersection closure at Greers and Langdons roads until 6pm Saturday 5 October.

This is because a waterpipe ruptured in the work area last night, causing significant flooding. The team are working hard to remove the water from the site, and work is underway to replace the pipe on Greers Road.

Due to this emergency repair work, the road reopening will be delayed until Saturday early evening when both roads will be open to two-way traffic. It is appreciated that this is disruptive, so thanks for your patience while this work is being completed.

When the road reopens, minor traffic management will be in place at the intersection so the team can continue working, until the Langdons Road railway crossing closure finishes up on 14 October.

Depending on how work progresses over the weekend, the team may or may not need to reinstate the Langdons Road eastbound one-way system later in the month. Sign up for updates for the next one (14 October), which will provide more information on this. The project is still on track to be wrapped up by the end of November.

Langdons Road railway crossing – next stage

On the weekend, we'll be heading into a full road closure at Langdons Road railway crossing. The details are recapped below, with some new details about how the team are managing the return of school students, post-holidays, on Monday 14 October.

• From Sunday 6 October (6am) until Monday 14 October (6pm), a full closure will be in place 24-hours/day at Langdons Road railway crossing.
• There will be no access for traffic, cyclists or pedestrians. Detours will be signposted.
• The Northern Line cycleway is also impacted by the closure.

Schools back!

The Northern Line cycleway will reopen on the morning of Monday 14 October in time for day one of the fourth school term. There'll be a team of workers at the crossing to escort pedestrians and cyclists through in either direction (over the crossing or across the road).

However, if work has already been completed on those areas, no escort will be necessary.
