Harewood Road and Langdons Road railway crossing updates

24 September 2024

Next stage of works at Harewood Road railway crossing

Works are progressing well with the rail renewal work on the Harewood Road railway crossing, and the programme is on track.

This means, from Monday 30 September, the crossing will reopen to traffic. For up to one week (could be shorter depending on project progress), the following will be in place:

  • 7am to 7pm – stop/go system, allowing two-way traffic through the crossing, including cyclists merged with traffic.
  • Two-way traffic maintained during the evening and nighttime.

The Harewood Road end of Restell Street will also reopen to traffic.

During the day, cyclists and pedestrians using the Northern Line cycleway will be escorted over the road at the crossing by the workers. Pedestrians travelling along Harewood Road will also be escorted through the crossing, although for some of these works, the southern footpath will be open. At night, cyclist and pedestrian access over the road and through the crossing will be made available.

From early to mid-October, minor works will be completed with minimal traffic management.
