28 February 2025

Crossing

Work has been progressing well at the Sawyers Arms Road level crossing, and the programme is on schedule with the dates outlined in the last update.

This means work will be entering its second stage at the crossing from Saturday 1 March, requiring a full road closure until Sunday 16 March (expected end date).

Road closure Sawyers Arms Road level crossing

Saturday 1 March until Sunday 16 March

Traffic impacts

  • Sawyers Arms Road will be closed at the crossing day and night to traffic, cyclists and pedestrians.
  • Detour routes will be in place, with signage to redirect traffic around the road closure. Cyclists and pedestrians will also have a signposted detour route.
  • Please allow extra travel time if you will affected by the closures.

Work hours will generally be between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

Please be on the lookout for changes in traffic management and follow the signs.

Back to stop/go lights

Monday 17 March until Friday 11 April

Following the road closure, the road will return to the same layout as has been in place since 10 February.

Traffic impacts

  • A lane will be closed on Sawyers Arms Road at the level crossing and temporary traffic lights will be used to manage two-way traffic through the work area. Please expect delays or plan a different travel route to avoid the area.
  • Pedestrian and cyclist access across the level crossing will be available. Please follow the signs and any instructions from staff onsite. There will also be escorts available if needed.
  • The road will be reinstated back to two-way outside of work hours, which are generally between 7am and 7pm.
