Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board Plan 2026-28

May 22, 2026

At its meeting on 11 May, the Board adopted its Community Board Plan for 2026-28 subject to some changes being made to reflect community views considered and discussed at the meeting. The finalised Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board Plan 2026-28 can now be found here.

The Community Board Plan sets out the community board’s vision and priorities for the local community, and identifies nine priorities, which the board will focus on during their term:

  • An Integrated Transport Network
  • Thriving, Safe and Prepared Communities
  • Urban Growth and Community Planning
  • Grassmere Development
  • Papanui Youth Project
  • MacFarlane Park
  • Westminster Park
  • Phillipstown Hub
  • Greening the East 2.0

The plan helps the board understand what their communities would like them to advocate for, and so guides their submissions to Council decision-making processes, such the Long Term Plan, and Annual Plans. It also more generally informs decisions on local activities, projects and facilities.
