Tīrama Mai – powered by Orion and Connetics

Tīrama Mai is back this winter to celebrate Puaka-Matariki in the heart of Ōtautahi Christchurch. The free, cultural festival brings together an array of artistic, lighting and cultural displays, including performances and storytelling.

Come into the city with friends and whānau to discover the trail of illuminated artworks, projections, music soundscapes and interactive installations. Tīrama Mai will feature a combo of all-new works and crowd-pleasers from the last couple of years. The winter event is on from 21 June – 30 June, 5 – 10pm.

Matariki Takiura, Matariki Wānaka – Whānau Day

Join Christchurch City Libraries at Tūranga this Saturday, 22 June, for their free Whānau Day to celebrate Matariki and Puaka.

The day will feature Storytimes with Loopy Tunes, crafts, games, and other activities, followed by Hangarau Taiohi Rangatahi (Youth) Tech Session. This session will include coding, robots, cameo cutter and badge making. Head over to Christchurch’s central library from 10am – 2.30pm, more here.

Ōtautahi Preloved Clothing Market

Refresh your wardrobe by browsing and buying someone else’s at the Ōtautahi Preloved Clothing Market. Stallholders include new and preloved clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories, jewellery, makeup and beauty products.

Items for sale will mainly be womenswear, but there will also be a small selection of men’s and kid’s clothing available. The market will be on from 10am – 2pm Sunday, 23 June, at the Multicultural Recreation and Community Centre
