Richmond Community Garden Olive Oil Co‑operative

Running from June 6–14, the annual Olive Co‑op brings together volunteers from across Christchurch (and potentially Waipara) to harvest surplus olives from backyards and community spaces, before pressing them into shared, locally produced olive oil.

Each year, volunteers harvest olives that might otherwise drop unused, transforming them into high-quality oil through a cooperative pressing process. Those who contribute share in the yield, creating both food and community resilience.
