A village market, a street festival and a duck race - check out what's on in Christchurch this weekend.

Riverside Farmers Market

Soak up the festive fun at the Riverside Farmers Market this Sunday. Expect fresh local produce, new and familiar stalls, live music and a buzzing Riverside vibe.

The market will be on at Riverside from 10am – 2pm Sunday.

2025 More FM Life Education Canterbury Duck Race

The More FM Great Canterbury Duck Race is back for its 8th year! Last year, the event raised over $30,000 to support Life Education’s vital work empowering children across Canterbury to make positive choices.

Enter the race for $10 and bring the family to the Bridge of Remembrance to watch two exciting duck races from midday on Sunday.

Latin Street Festival 2025

The Latin Street Festival is back and bigger than ever! Come along to Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre on Sunday which will be transformed into a fiesta of colour, rhythm and flavour. Enjoy a day filled with live Latin music, DJs, street food, cocktails, performances and social dancing.

Tickets are available online from $5. The Festival will be on from 1 – 6pm Sunday.

Linwood Village Market

The monthly Linwood Village Market will be on from 10am – 1pm this Saturday at Linwood Community Arts Centre car park, 388 Worcester Street.

There will be plants, crafts, clothes, books, garage sale-type stalls, fundraisers for community projects and more! Please note the market will be cancelled if wet, keep up to date via the Facebook page.

Labyrinth Walk

Come along for a relaxing walking meditation with Labyrinths Christchurch, using a Medieval style Labyrinth. Labyrinths are used worldwide for relaxation, meditation, ceremony and community building. Labyrinths Christchurch will use a canvas labyrinth that has recently been purchased for use in Christchurch.

Come and learn about labyrinths, and experience walking one, accompanied by relaxing and inspiring music. The event will be at St Albans Community Centre, on Saturday from 11am, koha admission.

DINOvember @ Te Hāpua

This month at Te Hāpua: Halswell Centre we’re celebrating all things prehistoric. Come along from 11am Saturday for a Dino-riffic Storytimes of fun stories, songs and rhymes. Then at 11.30am our special guests from the Canterbury Museum will be here with real and replica fossils of dinosaur teeth, crabs, stegosaurus plates and even fossilised poo for you to handle.

The Museum team will be ready to share their expert knowledge and answer any questions you might have. Everyone’s welcome at this free event, no bookings required.
