Consultation on the gifting of 2/8 Goulding Avenue has now closed. People were able to provide feedback from 17 July to 14 August 2023.

During this time, we heard from 23 individuals and groups. You can read their feedback and find out how this influenced the Council decision, made on 6 March 2024.

2/8 Goulding Avenue will be gifted to Hornby Community Centre Trust once Hornby Library moved into their new home at Matatiki Hornby Centre.

When Hornby Library moves into its new home at Matatiki Hornby Centre, Christchurch City Council will no longer need the property at 2/8 Goulding Avenue.

Since Hornby Community Care Trust currently own 1/8 Goulding Avenue, it is proposed that the remainder of the building be gifted to them.
