Waitai Coastal-Burwood-Linwood Community Board decided to approve the Ōpāwaho Heathcote River Planting Plan, on 11 August.

As part of the decision staff also informed the Board they will amend the planting type of sites adjacent to Long Street in Area 24 from Type C (Forest mix) to Type A (low planting), to acknowledge community feedback.

The Ōpāwaho Heathcote River Planting Plan is now operative. Partnership rangers will work with planting groups to assign sites for planting as and when those groups identify they have capacity to develop a new site.
