We received a total of 26 individual submissions about the Beach Hospitality Limited - Landlord Consent to Improvements and Request for Further Lease.

What you told us

Proposed building works

Most of submitters (22 out of 26, 88%) supported the proposed building works, for the following reasons:

  • The establishment is an asset to the community
  • Improvements will enhance functionality and experience for staff and customers.

Three submitters did not state a clear position. One noted concern about the building occupying land they believe should remain publicly accessible, not for commercial purposes.

Lease extension request

Most of submitters (23 out of 26, 88%) supported for the lease extension, for the following reasons

  • The restaurant’s value to the community.
  • Fairness due to The Beach’s investment in improvements.
  • Positive comments on responsible management.

Two submitters opposed the extension but gave no reasons.

Meeting details and decision-making process

A staff report recommending approval of the Beach Hospitality Limited - Landlord Consent to Improvements and Request for Further Lease will be presented to the Spreydon-Cashmere-Heathcote Community Board.
