Growing a Fair Food System Together Workshop

As part of the refresh of Christchurch City Council’s refresh of the Food Resilience Policy and City-Wide Action Plan, were holding a Food Resilience Action Planning Workshop.

Who is being invited:
A wide range of food system stakeholders, including:

  • Food manufacturers and processors
  • Growers and producers
  • Distributors, retailers, and hospitality
  • Community organisations
  • Iwi and rūnanga
  • local government staff
  • Researchers and system specialists and more!

This mix reflects the need for a whole‑of‑system approach, food resilience cannot be addressed in silos.

Why this matters:
Food resilience intersects with planning, climate adaptation, emergency preparedness, waste, public health, policy, community development, food safety, parks and green spaces and economic development among others. This workshop will help shape practical, coordinated actions that align with stakeholder priorities and on‑the‑ground realities.

What to expect:
A focused, action‑oriented session to review and prioritise draft actions building on engagements so far, identify enablers and barriers, and help clarify where Council can add the most value with others across the food system.
