We're in the midst of the school holidays and there's plenty of fun to be had! Check out what's on in Christchurch this weekend.

Christchurch Hop-Hop Summit

The Christchurch Hip Hop Summit, presented by Youth & Cultural Development and Flare, has kicked off on Wednesday this week and will be underway until Sunday. This year, the summit has been condensed into a few exciting, jam-packed days with keynotes, workshops, graffiti, xtreme hip hop, beatboxing, barbering and more.

This is a free, all-ages event with specific R18 events also available. The primary venue will be at Tūranga, with additional events taking place at other locations.

School holiday fun at Te Pou Toetoe Linwood Pool

Rush, jump, slip, slide, biff and bash your way through the inflatable obstacle course at Te Pou Toetoe Linwood Pool during the school holiday weekends.

Come along from 1 – 3pm Saturday and Sunday. General pool admission price applies.

The Great Library Seed and Plant Swap

Got some leftover seeds or seedlings? Bring them to Linwood Library to share with the community! The Great Library Seed and Plant Swap is underway at Linwood on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

We welcome vegetable, herb, flower, native and heritage seeds – and you can even bring any spare seedlings you have potted up. Thanks to Trees for Canterbury and WeedBusters we have some plants to get you started!

School Holiday Fun

Spring into a world of excitement these school holidays with thrilling performances, circus fun, vibrant workshops and artistic adventures. The Arts Centre has a range of school holiday activities including stilt walking and ceramic workshops, circus classes and clown shows, movies and more.

This weekend, watch an international stilt performance at The Big Butterfly and try stilt walking at a workshop on Sunday, or check out the Circus Allsorts on Saturday.

Ferrymead Night Market

The Ferrymead Night Market is back! Immerse yourself in some Christchurch Heritage, support local and indulge in some delicious food while you’re at it. Explore the park in all of its glory, catch up with friends and family and enjoy local food vendors, craft beers, stall holders, train and tram rides, live music and more.

$5 entry and free for kids 15 years and under. The market is on from 4 – 8pm Saturday.
