Improvements coming for Amyes Road
Amyes Road is in need of a refresh. We know that the road surfacing isn’t great in places and that the deep-dish guttering is hazard for people.
We're planning a full street renewal for Amyes Road and we’re getting in touch to find out if there is anything you would like improved on the street while we are completing the renewal work.
We can’t do everything, but a full renewal includes the road, footpaths, kerb and channels (gutters), drainage pipes, berms, streetlights, signs, markings, landscaping, and street trees. This is also the best time for us to put in any cycle lanes if there aren’t any already. So, if there is any part of these features you would like changed – now is your chance to let us know.
Tell us about things that need fixing
Before we develop a plan we would like to know if you’ve noticed any issues. For example:
- where you have noticed flooding along the street—if you have photos please send them to us.
- where you’ve noticed people trying to cross the road.
- where you think we need to put in more grass, plants and / or trees.
Next steps
Your feedback will help us shape the plan for the Amyes Road street renewal.
Later this year, when the draft plan is ready, we will share it here before the Waipuna Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board decides whether to approve the plan.
If you'd like to stay in the loop on this project, tell us what you think below or hit the 'follow' button at the top of the page.
Other projects in the area
We're also looking at improvements for the Amyes/Springs and Awatea Springs intersections. The community gave us feedback about issues or concerns at these intersections in March/April 2025. This feedback will be presented to the Waipuna Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board in June. Find out more
