About the Community Board

The Waipuna Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board hold regular meetings that you’re welcome to attend. Anyone can ask to speak to the board about a local issue, activity or project.

The Community Board's main roles are to:

  • Represent and act as an advocate for the interests of our community.
  • Consider and report on all matters referred to us by the council, or any matter of interest to the board.
  • Maintain an overview of services provided by the council within the community.
  • Communicate with community organisations and special interest groups within the community.

EcoSort recycling facility open day

EcoSort recycling facility, 21 Parkhouse Road, Wigram

See behind the scenes and get the inside scoop at this free open day. EcoSort opens its facility to the public once a year to inform people about our recycling processes.

The event is a fun and educational opportunity for families and people of all ages interested in waste management in Ōtautahi.

  • Chat with the team about all things recycling.
  • Get up close to a recycling collection truck.
  • Play fun games and activities and win prizes.

Parking is available on Michelle Road with limited mobility parking onsite.
