What do I do in an emergency, where can I get help and how can I help my community? Strong, connected communities that work together are better prepared to respond to and recover from disasters and emergency events. Council’s Civil Defence and Emergency Management (CDEM) team have Community Resilience Co-ordinators that work with communities to develop Community Preparedness Plans. Together:

• Learn what and who is involved in creating a plan
• Identify what disasters, emergencies and/or adverse events could impact your local community
• Connect with others in your area who may be interested in putting one together
• Have a look at Community Response Plans that other communities have put together
• Start your community on the journey to being a strong connected community
