What you told us

Common topic and requests raised during early conversations and consultation were:

  • General positive comments ranging from compliments about the project to excitement that development was taking place on the mall
  • Requests for protection from wind, rain and sun
  • General concerns about current empty / derelict buildings in the mall
  • Requests for a children’s play area
  • Requests for bike parking
  • Requests for drinking fountains
  • Requests for rubbish bins
  • Requests to keep the two palm trees proposed for removal
  • Requests to include more natural aspects, such as more planting

Meeting details and decision making process

A staff report recommending approval of the Brighton Mall upgrades will be presented to the Waitai Coastal-Burwood-Linwood Community Board.
