Decision made

18 August 2025

Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board decided to approve the pedestrian safety improvements, on 14 August 2025.

The Community Board asked staff to investigate the pedestrian refuge island outside Ryan Street. They requested that the refuge island move to the other side of Ryan Street so that vehicles turning right into and out of the street could use the median strip. They also requested installation of keep clear markings so that vehicles could safely turn into and out of the street. The pedestrian refuge island outside Ryan Street will return to the board for a final decision in September 2025.

You can read the meeting minutes below, which include the formal resolutions.
