Thanks to everyone who submitted feedback on this project

We received a total of nine submissions, from four individuals and the following organisations:

  • Christchurch International Airport Limited
  • KB Contracting and Quarries Limited
  • Daltons Holdings 2013 Limited
  • Davie Lovell-Smith Limited
  • Canterbury Botanical Society

What you told us

Four submitters supported the plan for the following reason:
  • Agreed that McLeans Grasslands Reserve’s ecological, landscape and cultural values should be preserved.

Three submitters somewhat supported the plan) for the following reasons:

  • Unsure about future impact of road realignment and stopping.
  • Unsure about future access to businesses.
  • Unsure about outlined management strategies and effectiveness of the proposed reserve status.

One submitter was not supportive of the plan, doubting the endangered status of listed species and the significance of the land to Māori. They felt that this proposal restricted development and infrastructure on potential productive land.

You can read more about what we heard in the meeting agenda below, which includes the staff report. To read all the feedback we received, download the submission table below.
