The Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board decided to approve the concept design for the play space renewal at Momorangi Reserve, on 14 August 2025.

The Board heard that park maintenance at Momorangi Reserve was a concern to residents. These concerns have been passed on to the relevant Council staff.

They also requested staff to investigate options to provide shade at the play space. Staff will respond to the board with options at a later date.

What happens next?

As part of their decision and after considering the submissions and deputations, the Board approved additional funding for this play space renewal.

We expect construction of the new play space and pathways to begin in late 2025.
