Agenda available

4 March 2026

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the P360 trial

We received a total of 70 submissions, from 65 individuals and the following organisations/businesses:

  • North Beach Surf Life Saving Club
  • North Beach Residents' Association
  • North Beach Coffee Shed
  • Nomadic Barbers
  • New Brighton Residents' Association

What you told us

Common themes in the feedback on the trial included:

  • It had no notable impact on parking availability
    • Increased monitoring/enforcement is required / the restrictions were ignored
    • People who have been parked overnight can remain for the entire morning
  • The amount of signage is excessive and visually unappealing / makes the car park harder to use
  • The trial had a positive impact / improved parking availability / led to fewer campers in the car park
  • Nearby roadworks made it hard to tell what the true effect was

You can read more about what we heard in the meeting agenda below, which includes the staff report. To see all the feedback we received, look at the submissions report below.

What's recommended

The staff report recommends that the Waitai Coastal-Burwood-Linwood Community Board:

  • Removes P360 restrictions for the entire car park
  • Instates P180 restrictions (7am-7pm) for eight of the parking spaces within the car park
  • Instates P30 restrictions (7am-7pm) for two of the parking spaces within the car park.

You can find more detail and a map of which parking spaces are recommended to be restricted in the meeting agenda below.
