Stanmore Road crossing

Signalised safe speed platform with shared pedestrian and cyclist crossing 80m north of the Stanmore Road/Avonside Drive intersection to reduce jaywalking and encourage drivers to travel at safer speeds.
A sharper ramp onto the platform, with a longer eased exit off the platform, resulting in a smoother ride for longer vehicles, including buses.
Green paint on the cycle lanes on Stanmore Road approaching to the crossing.
Road signs on both Stanmore Road approaches to the crossing to provide an advanced warning for drivers.
No stopping yellow lines to improve visibility. This results in the removal of roadside parking along the edge of the Ōtakaro Avon River Corridor – approximately seven spaces on the west side and three on the east side Stanmore Road, with more roadside parking available nearby.
Cycle ramps to enable north and south travelling cyclists to safely move on and off Stanmore Road at the crossing.
