Plans approved

Consultation on the Slater Street road and footpath renewals has now closed. People were able to provide feedback from 3 September to 29 September. During this time, we heard from 18 individuals and groups. You can read their feedback by clicking on the link in the 'submissions' below.

Work on this project is expected to start in September 2025. Residents will be informed before the works begin.

We received a total of 18 submissions about Slater Street road and footpath renewal, from 17 individuals and the following organisation:

What you told us

  • 50% (9) shared support for the proposed plan with 17% (3) specifically noting support for the road narrowing and traffic calming measures.
  • 17% (3) thought that speeding was either a bigger issue on other nearby streets such as Warden Street.
  • 22% (4) queried when other sections of Slater Street or surrounding streets would also be updated.
  • 17% (3) noted they did not support speed humps being included in the street renewal.
