We’ve made a decision on St Peter's school crossing upgrade

The Waihoro Spreydon Cashmere Heathcote Community Board decided to approve the plans, on 12 September 2024. The Board did not make any changes to the proposal.

What happens next?

We expect construction to begin in late 2024.

We received a total of 31 submissions about St Peter's School crossing, from 27 individuals and the following organisations:

  • St Peter's School
  • Spokes
  • Disabled Persons Assembly
  • Beckenham Neighbourhood Association

What you told us

The majority of submitters supported the upgraded crossing, with some specifically mentioning the speed bump and the raised platform.

Fewer submitters disliked the yellow no stopping lines, felt that this crossing was not used enough to justify the project, and/or that the street is too wide.

Submitters also requested a priority crossing, trees/landscaping, red paint, and an increase to the number of signs.
