The Waitai Community Governance team, in collaboration with Bromley Community Centre, CCC Parks, and Rec & Sport, has launched a program called Activate Bromley, which aims to create engaging and vibrant spaces for residents to enjoy. The first activation, involving the installation of mini fairy houses in the park space next to the Bromley Community Centre, has already been successfully completed.

During the July School Holidays, the Bromley Community Centre Holiday program focused on involving local children in creating mini fairy houses. Each house was built and decorated by the children, with a letter placed on the bottom of each house. These letters form part of an exciting scavenger hunt, encouraging whānau to explore the park and discover the hidden fairy homes. The installation of the fairy houses was a collaborative effort, bringing together Waitai staff, the Parks team, the Bromley Community Centre, and local residents. This successful activation marks a promising first step in a series of planned initiatives designed to activate Bromley Park.
