Christchurch, 10 May — One of the city’s most anticipated environmental events, the Mother of All Clean Ups, is set to take place on Saturday, 10 May, with over 50 community groups and 12 schools already signed up to tackle rubbish along local waterways.

This annual initiative brings together passionate volunteers from across Ōtautahi to remove litter from key environmental areas, preventing waste from entering the region’s rivers, beaches, harbour, and estuary.

Public participation is warmly encouraged, with two main meeting points: New Brighton Beach, where volunteers will gather at 10am at the New Brighton Clock Tower in front of the library, and Naval Point Club in Lyttelton. Gloves and rubbish bags will be provided on site.

All are welcome to join, and no registration is required for public participation. Just turn up with a smile – everything else is provided.
