New Brighton’s Ocean Alley Set to Make Waves These School Holidays! 🌊

There’s something exciting bubbling up in New Brighton – and it's going to be off the hook! Oram Ave (56 Brighton Mall) is transforming into Ocean Alley, a vibrant hub of free, ocean-themed fun for the whole whānau these school holidays.

Running on most Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, Ocean Alley will feature a huge line-up of creative, quirky, and active experiences – from Crazy Bike Day and Doggie Day Out to skate ramp pop-ups, crafts, and interactive performances.

And the fun doesn’t stop when the school bell rings – Ocean Alley will continue with two extra weeks of after-school activities to keep tamariki entertained and soaking up that fresh sea air.

🎉 Event Highlights Include:

  • Friday 18 April: Yarnbombing Workshop with free Hot Cross Buns, 1–3pm
  • Saturday 19 April: Easter Egg Art, 10am–2pm
  • Saturday 19 April: Outdoor Movie Night, from 5:30pm (movie at 6pm)
  • Monday 21 April: Circability Performance & Workshops, 11am–1pm
  • Wednesday 23 April: Live Music Performances, 11am–3pm
  • Saturday 26 April: Crazy Bikes Day & Kids Activities, 10am–3pm

🎒 Back to School Bonus Events:

  • Friday 2 May: Skate Pop-up, 3:30–5:30pm
  • Saturday 3 May: Doggie Day Out, 10am–2pm
  • Friday 9 May: Shiver Me Timbers Morning Warmer, 7:30–9:30am (free hot choc!)
  • Saturday 10 May: Yarn Workshop, Skate Deck Deco, Gardening & Mosaics, 10am–2pm
