Ngā Manu Kōrero Ki Waitaha 2024

Haeata Community Campus hosted the regional competition for Ngā Manu Kōrero 2024 from the 6 to 7 June. In its 59th year, Ngā Manu Kōrero is a prestigious nation wide speech competition for secondary schools which serves as a important platform for nurturing young leaders and preserving te reo Māori.

Haeata hosted four divisions for the competition including the Pei Hurinui Jones Contest, Koromiko Contest for seniors, Te Rāwhiti Ihaka Contest and Sir Turi Carroll Contet for Juniors which were all livestreamed on Tahu FM.

The winners will go through the national competition in September in Tāmaki Makaurau.
