Play Week Comes to Life at Wainoni Park – Join the Fun!

24 October 2025

Playbox

Play Week Aotearoa 2025 is all about celebrating the value of play for tamariki, whānau, and communities across Aotearoa. Play gives tamariki freedom, sparks creativity, and helps them build friendships and lifelong skills. It’s how they learn, grow, and make sense of the world around them.

Be part of Play Week and watch your tamariki thrive!

Play is simple, fun, and free! It doesn’t take much—just a little time and imagination. Turn a cardboard box into a robot, slide across the grass like a sled, skip to school, or head to your local park for a game with friends. The possibilities are endless.

Community Playground Clean-Up

Show your aroha for Wainoni Park! Join us on Tuesday 21 October, 3.30–4.30pm for a community-led playground clean-up.
A 2023 Neighbourhood Play System report with Haeata students highlighted tamariki concerns about rubbish—especially glass—at Wainoni Park. Let’s work together to make it a safe, welcoming space for play.
