Share Kai and Kōrero are public pop-up neighbourhood food events that encourage connection, participation and celebrate the diversity of cultures that call Aotearoa home.

In June, four Share Kai and Kōrero events were hosted in the dining space at Te Pou Toetoe, Linwood Pool. Each event highlighted one of the three Share Kai Cooks Collective groups, consisting of passionate refugee and migrant women from the Eritrean, Afghan, and Nepali/Bhutanese communities. The fourth event showcased the newest Share Kai group from the Ukrainian community, featuring a meal celebrating Ukrainian culture and cuisine. This event also demonstrated Ōtautahi’s solidarity with the Ukrainian community, with all proceeds supporting humanitarian needs in Ukraine. Proceeds from the first three events went to the respective Share Kai Cooks Collective groups.
