Cashmere Technical Football Club have asked to replace old lights on the Addington Park sports fields. The club are current users of Addington Park, using it as a training ground and for competitive games.

The existing lights border the sports field and have been out of action for a long time (approx. 10+ years).

They're proposing to:

• Install four new LED lights, which are more energy efficient and highly effective at directing light towards a specific area,
• Remove four existing lights.

The club will cover the cost to install the new light towers. Council will cover the cost to remove the existing light towers.

The hours of operation are proposed to be 3pm to 8:30pm weekdays and 9am to 5pm weekends (mainly Saturdays).

The Council's Environment Health Team have assessed the light spill plan from the new LEDs and confirmed they comply with the district plan for glare and light spill.

The light will be directed towards the playing field and away from the park borders.
