Our Long Term Plan (LTP) sets the direction for all the activities and services we provide, and how the Council will pay for these services over the next 10 years.
Council expectations
Through the Letter of Expectations (adopted by Council 5 April 2023) the Mayor and Councillors set out their expectations to inform the work staff will undertake to support development of the LTP 2024 – 2034. This makes clear Councillors’ expectations around LTP content – the major strategic issues that the LTP needs to address, and provides clarity and certainty to both governance and staff around how the LTP process will unfold, including joint development. From inflation to supply chain issues, there are a number of challenges facing the city as we head into the next decade. The briefings give the Council a chance to work through these topics with staff and develop a plan that delivers the level of service our residents need while keeping rates down.
